Early Times Report
jammu, June 22: It seems that the issue of "Women Empowerment" has become a minting machine for some organizations as a mega trade fair which is being organized in a 5 Star Hotel of Jammu by a NGO with the sponsorship of organizations of Center Government.
Lakhs of the rupees were spent like water for the publicity hoarding at some major points of Jammu city but shockingly the event witnessed a very thin presence of female folk. As per information the main thrust of the organizing event was to draw the attention of young girls who are focusing on their career but organizing an event in a 5 Star Hotel for women empowerment raise question on the organizer.
It was informed that they have contacted many colleges, schools of the city for students' participation in the event but fact is that presently summer vacations are being observed by all educational institutions across the Jammu region then how can they expect students' participation which was obvious from the thin presence of the female students in the trade fair.
Some visitors preferring anonymity informed Early Times that there were huge name of co-organizer including SANSA Foundation, Technology Development Board, ISRO, NHPC, National Skill Development Corporation, National Innovation Foundation, etc. who pumped huge money for organizing such programme with main focus towards the fields of Research and Development, Power, Infrastructure, Health Care, Handloom and Handicrafts, ISRO, Khadi and Agriculture.
"There is no justification for organizing the event in a lavish hotel by spending lakhs of rupees of public money whereas it could be been organized in some women colleges with direct contact with the students," they said that some visitors found it useless for them and left the venue after wasting their valuable time. A woman who visited the place, who was accompanied with her son and mother had to face disappointment by the seeing the event useless for her and left the place immediately.
