Scheme of ex-gratia to civilian victims of cross border firing simplified | | | Early Times Report
New Delhi, June 23: Union Ministry of Home Affairs has simplified the scheme of Ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh to the civilian victims of cross border firing in Jammu and Kashmir. The cash relief will now be credited by the State Government of J&K in the bank accounts of next of kin (NoK) in case of death or the victims of more than 50% disability. All the conditions relating to Fixed Deposit etc. have been removed. The entire expenses on this account will be reimbursed by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Ceiling of the ex-gratia cash relief of Rs. 5 lakh will include any amount if already disbursed to the NoK/victims under the Scheme. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, during his recent visit to Jammu and Kashmir, had announced these simplified provisions. The provisions will be effective from 24.08.2016, the date on which Cabinet had approved the scheme of compensation to the victims of cross border firing. |
