| Nirjala Akadasi celebrated in Jammu | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, June 23: Like other parts of country, the festival of Nirjala Ekadashi was celebrated in Jammu with religious fervor and gaiety.
On the occasion people organized Chabiles in every nook and corner of the city and distribute sweet water and eatables among passersby.
As the day dedicated to Lord Vishnu and celebrated on the 11th day of the fortnight according to Hindu calendar, people also keep fast on this day and holds specials prayers.
The Nirjala Ekadashi Fast is different from other types of fasting as during this festival, one is supposed to observe the fast without drinking water as well. |
