Early Times Report Srinagar, Jun 24: A high level meeting on Sunday reviewed arrangements for the annual pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, commencing from June 28 from both traditional Pahalgam and shortest Baltal tracks. An official spokesman said here this afternoon that Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today visited Yatra Base Camp, Baltal to review the arrangements being made for smooth conduct of Yatra 2018. Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, SP Pani and District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal Dr Piyush Singla accompanied the Advisor. The Advisor took a detailed review of all activities being carried out in Baltal area, besides, Domail and Holy Cave. The Advisor gave on-spot instructions to further improve the arrangements and directed concerned officers to provide 3 Gen-Sets to ITBP, besides providing additional toilet facilities to them. Kumar directed the Power Development Department to keep buffer stock of Transformers available at Baltal to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the whole area and also directed Food Safety Officer to ensure regular checking of food items and other eatables in the langars. |
