May Chamaliyal mitigate intrigues amid Indo- Pak! | | | Rakesh Aathur
India and Pakistan are two countries which are sharing border in the shape of line of actual control, line of control and International Border for more than 950 km along the ring line of Siachun glaciers, Poonch, Rajouri, Chhamb of Jammu, Samdu, Balar of Samba & Maniyari of Kathua districts of Jammu & Kashmir state. But among greater resentments and retaliatory action in the shape of Samdu, Balar, Narayanpur, etc border comprising of the Ramgarh Sector included a sacred place known as Chamaliyal on the extreme point of borderline amid both of these countries. Here both countries' people would used to show their devotions by venerating at the Dargah of Baba Chamaliyal consistently in counterpart manners. At this place thousands of the pilgrimages from both the countries would used to pay their obeisance during the fair when goes to be held on the event of last or 3rd Thursday of June in every year. This extreme border junction is well known among both the countries for its sacred qualities in the almighty of Baba enshrined in a great Dargah which is known for its holy water bath and soil- gel for its remedial effects upon the skin diseases like itching, scabies, rashes, etc. This is another sacred quality for which it is rendered a renowned place in the Indio- Pak history that It realizes us about the amicable behave among the people of the both nations since before 1947 when they used to live in a major country like undivided India then. The myth of the Chamaliyal Dargah reveals that before 1947 when there was not any line of control dividing the now-a- days two separate countries like India and Pakistan. Then there might be the dwellings in which the people comprising Hindu and Muslim community would used to live with peace and harmony. They would have proved the examples of the affection and friendship for the both communities. Then Baba Daleep Singh Manhas was also leading his life span in very easy manners there also. As there located number of such dwellings inconsistent to each other in which large number of Hindus and Muslims used to live at the belief on par phenomenon. Then Baba during night would used to visit a house located in neighbor dwelling known as Saidawali now penciled in Pakistan where Muslim community was outnumbering and he belonged to Hindu caste. While leading so Baba would have amicable terms with the visiting family. One day other people of this dwelling have raised some kinds of suspects among the host family that Baba had some intimated relations, which the host family cannot sustain so more and they started to pursue the steps of the Baba. While during one night Baba was returning from there towards his house meanwhile some miscreants had trespassed him and beheaded there him into dark night. According to people of the area, Baba would used to recite the tales of the old myths along with its suitable stanzas/ slogans. And hosting family would used to hear so during night because at that time people would get together during nights and spent their times in very hectic manners. In the same way when he was beheaded at this dwelling his head was fallen at the same place which is now located in Pakistan called Saidanwali and rest part of his body had reached at his home at which place the present Dargah located in India imminently known as Chamaliyal. It is said that after sometime Baba haunted the people of both the dwellings and appears into their dreams and prone to skin diseases like itching, tine a, scabies, etc. This process remains continuous for a long time and then people of both the places said to have installed with these holy Dargahs at respective places and both the countries would used to manage a grand fair in sweet memory of Baba, where people from the different corners of the countries would used to visit and pay their obeisance at its holy feet. Dargah on Indian Territory is under jurisdiction of B.S.F which have played a significant role in its management in general and during the commemoration of two days fair. Though B.S.F is assisted by other agencies for management purposes also and on the other side Pakistan Rangers would also used to celebrate a week long fair consistently and people comprising relatives who were divided among nations and due to financial problem they cannot seek visas to visit at would used to meet each other by the medium of this fair since from very beginning of this Mela. In very beginning of this fair the poor relatives across the common borderline would used to met each other amicably because relation among both the countries were not so embittered then and such tenable situation of now-a- days was perverted. But soon after this there occurred total such a prohibition by both the countries due to bitter situations aroused across the borderline. Despite that of the mystic view of this place is somewhat astonishing in itself yet. The residents of the surrounding villages comprising Dug, Shame-chak, Mahrajpur, Chhowni, Abtal, Jerda, Ramgarh, etc would used to serve with cold water stalls ( chabeels) in the way for visitors. The recent last year visit of CM Mahbooba Mufti at this place have aroused a good hope by aspiring to opening up of a bilateral trade route among Indo-Pak can enhance its importance extremely in strategic and economic manners, which is a good massage for people living there along Chamiliyal. Though B.S.F and district administration plays its role in management of the two days fair and which they have dropped the idea of celebrating the up-coming fair on 28 June due to some security reasons. But it is the efforts of the local residents who wanted to organize this fair on their own level. Fortunately, it is only and one place on border across the both countries where friendship of both nations emerges ultimately and it may mitigate all intrigues in future. And Pakistan may never repeat the incidence like recent massacre of our B.S.F troops which though unforgettable in nature! |
