Udhampur, June 24: Black-marketing of CAPD ration is going on under the nose of authorities in Ramnagar and Udhampur with the storekeepers and TSOs concerned directly involved. Sources informed that in Majodi, Tehsil Basanthgarh the CAPD rice is being sold at Rs. 1000 per 50 kg bag for which actual price is Rs. 750. This black-marketing business is also being carried out on during Sundays as well. Locals alleged that the concerned storekeepers and Tehsil Supplier Officers are directly involved in this wrong practice. Insiders informed that the concerned checking inspectors too have a share in the profits and they conduct inspections only for name sake. All this is putting the State exchequers to losses Many sections of the society have expressed concern over this and have appealed to the authorities concerned to look into the matter. Apart from Majodi this illegal practice is also going on in many other parts of Udhampur distirc without any check. A ration dealer when contacted said that many people do not turn up to take their ration which remains there in the store. "To save it from humid weather, rats and from rot we sell it to those who have no ration cards and I feel it is not a wrong thing," he said without disclosing his name. When contacted AD CAPD Udhampur said that he will look into the matter. |
