Early Time Report
POONCH, June 24:Shamsher Hakla Poonchi, a prominent Gujjar leader, has appealed the Governor to approach the government of India with the recommendation of including Gojri language in the 8th Schedule of the constitution of India. This would ensure the development and spread of Gojri language, he said. Poonchi further said that the Gojri language is being spoken by a very large population of Gujjars and Bakarwals of J&K state, the number of which goes over thirty-four lakhs which in no way could be ignored and their only mother language is Gojri. Keeping in view the demand of such a huge population of Gujjars and Bakarwals of the state the inclusion of Gojri language in the 8th schedule of Constitution of India, is most genuine and justified, he added. |
