4 PHCs found locked during night inspection of heath institutions | Disciplinary action initiated, salaries of staff withheld | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, July 11: District Administration Rajouri has initiated disciplinary action against medical staff of four Primary Health Centres (PHCs) after these were found locked during late night inspection of health institutions to check the availability of doctors and other healthcare facilities. District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad constituted special squads of revenue officers and field staff for carrying out the inspections. Taking serious note, the DDC ordered to withhold salaries of all employees of PHCs which were found locked and directed the Chief Medical Officer to initiate disciplinary action against the staff. The DDC himself paid surprise visit to District Hospital and inspected Emergency, Gynecology, Surgical, Medical and Pediatric Wards and Sick Newborn Care Unit. He interacted with patients and took feedback of health services being provided to them. He instructed the hospital management to place duty roster conspicuously outside every ward for convenience of the public. The 4 PHCs which were found locked included PHC Shahdara Sharif, Lah, Laroka and Bagla.
