Early Times Report JAMMU, July 26: The Municipal Veterinary Officer (MVO) along with other team members today conducted a surprise stray cattle drive in different areas of Jammu city. The areas where the drive was conducted included New Plot, Janipur, Muthi, Karan Nagar, Rehari, Bakshi Nagar, Talab Tillo and Gandhi Nagar. During the drive, 10 stray cattle have been lifted and impounded them at JMC Cattle Pond Dogra Hall. Giving detail about the drive, Dr Zaffar Iqbal, MVO said that majority of the dairy owners after milking let loose their animals on roads and streets resulting in frequent traffic jams and accidents. Veterinary wing of JMC has been lifting the sick/injured/accidental stray animals round the clock and shifting these animals into Municipal Animal Care, Roop Nagar for further treatment. This wing has also lifting the stray cattle on daily/routine basis and impounding them at Cattle Pond Dogra Hall. |
