| Adbi Kunj holds condolence meeting | | |

Jammu, July 26: Adbi Kunj held a condolence meeting here today. Santosh Shah Nadan renowned poetess and young poet Abdul Jabbar Butt conducted the proceeding of the meet in which Adbi Kunj condoled the sad demise of doyen of Hindi poetry Gopal Dass "NEERAJ". He passed away on Thursday (19/07/2018) at the AIIMS Trauma Centre New Delhi. Paying their tributes to great soul, members of Adbi Kunj expressed their views on his sad demise. They threw detailed light on the various aspects of his song writing and various ups and downs of his life. Neeraj penned several hits such as "Ae-Bhai-Zara-Dekh-Ke-Chalo", "Dil-Nay-Phir-Yaad-Kiya", Dil-Aaj-Shayar-Hai", "Likhay-Jo-Khat-Tujay" among other. He was awarded Padam Shri in 1991 and Padam Bhushan in 2007.
A composite poetic session was also held in which singers, poets sang various songs of 'Neeraj' from different films. During the meet, Adbi Kunj also paid rich tributes to its old activist Rajeshwar Bhakhari on his 3rd Death anniversary (02/07/2015). In the meet, it was also decided that Adbi Kunj will celebrate its 44th foundation day in the next month on August 26, 2018 (Sunday). The meet was come to the end with the vote of thanks by Aarash Dalmotra Chairman Adbi Kunj. |
