Youth PDP leader sentenced to jail for threatening officer 7/27/2018 10:35:09 PM Early Times Report Kulgam, July 27: A local Court here in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Friday awarded one year imprisonment to People's Democratic Party Youth Leader and his accomplice for threatening a government officer. According to Police case, in 2011, Sheeraz Ahmad Bhat s/o Gh Qadir Bhat R/o Noomai Kulgam and Aijaz Ahmad Malik s/o Abdul Satar Malik R/o Yaripora bragged into the office of Executive Officer Municipal committee Yaripora and damaged the government property besides creating ruckus inside the office. Sheeraz Ahmad Bhat is a PDP Youth District President of Kulgam district. The duo had already thrashed the employees of Municipal Committee Yaripora and had earlier threatened the executive officer on Phone. On the written complaint of Executive Officer, Police registered a case at Police Station Yaripora on 28-02-2011 and after the investigation concerned investigation officer found prima facie case under section 353 RPC against the accused and were subsequently challaned. During the trial, the prosecution produced the available evidence and examined six witnesses out of eight. In the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Kulgam, the duos were found guilty and were accordingly convicted. "Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the gravity, nature of the offence I sentence the accused Sheeraz Ahmad Bhat s/o Gh Qadir Bhat R/o Noomai Kulgam and Aijaz Ahmad Malik s/o Abdul Satar Malik R/o Yaripora under section 353 PRC to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and also to pay fine of Rs 3000 (three thousand) to each," reads the conviction order. The Court has also issued imprisonment warrant against Sheeraz who wasn't present in the court while as his accomplice Aijaz Ahmad was taken into custoday and sent to Anantnag jail.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
