RTA Rajouri approves 31 cases for route permit

rajouri, July 27: The Regional Transport Authority Rajouri which met here today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad approved 31 cases for route permits for mini buses, autorikshaws and four wheelers.
The meeting was attended by SSP Yougal Manhas, ARTO Neeraj Sharma and representatives of Traffic Police.
ARTO briefed the meeting about the problems being faced by the local people in remote areas like Mandirgala, Rehaan, Koteranka, Budhal, Panihad, Dalhori and other off routes located villages in the district. He also informed about the available number of vehicles besides highlighting the additional requirement of vehicles for facilitating the locals.
The meeting after discussions and thorough examination of cases put up in the meeting approved a 31 out 42 taken up cases for route permits for passenger vehicles of various specifications. The approved cases included 29 of 35 for Stage carriage (omni buses), 2 of 2 for Stage carriage (Mini buses) whereas 5 cases of contract carriage were rejected.
The DDC emphasised that the mini buses/ omni buses should ply on the approved route permits. He also stressed upon transport and traffic authorities that there should be no overloading, overcharging and irregular vehicular movement on the new road stretches.
