Saahil Suhail Early Times Report Kulgam, July 27: Exhibiting exemplary courage, People in Mohanpora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district, Friday foiled bank loot attempt of suspected militants. According to reports, a group of militants, on Friday afternoon, barged inside a branch of J&K Bank at Mohanpora in district Kulgam with the intention to loot the bank. However present inside the banl branch not only resisted the attempt of the militants but forced them to flee from the spot. Infuriated by this, militants fired resulting in injuries to two civilians and a bank guard. No cash was looted from the bank, they said. One civilian sustained injury on his arm while the other got injured in his leg. Both of them were subsequently shifted to District hospital Kulgam for treatment. The injured were given first aid at the hospital and later were shifted to Srinagar for further treatment. Soon after the incident, Police and other security agencies reached the spot and initiated a cordon and search operation. Police has also registered a case FIR No. 125/2018 u/s 13, 1618,19,38,39 UA (P) Act, 7/27 IA act, 393 RPC and has taken up investigation. SPP Kulgam Harmeet Singh has also thanked locals for resisting and foiling the bank loot attempt. The incidents have continued this year as well. |
