Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 5: The Royal Entomological Society of London (U.K) (RES) has elected Prof. D.P.Abrol, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Jammu as Fellow of the Society. Prof. Abrol is the first Scientist of the State from the state of Jammu & Kashmir to have been chosen for this prestigious honour. It is the rarest of rare honour for an Indian scientist to be fellow of this prestigious world's oldest scientific Entomological society founded in 1833 which is in continuous existence devoted to the promotion and development of Entomological science. Prof Abrol has earlier been elected fellow of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) New Delhi w,e,f January 2018. The aim of the Royal entomological Society is the improvement and diffusion of entomological science, through publications, scientific meetings, supporting and funding entomological expeditions, and public event. It has more than 60 partner organizations spread throughout the world. The Royal Society has conferred this award to Prof Abrol in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of entomology. Dr Abrol representing India is one of the 10 foreign fellows elected from all over the world for their outstanding contributions to entomological science w.e.f June 2018. |
