| Locals allege impropriety in RDD Pouni block | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, Aug 5: Department of Rural Development is hitting the headlines for wrong reasons yet again as the officials of the Pouni block village upper Talwara of Reasi district have misused their position and diverted the sanctioned project of tractor road from "main road to Swarg Ashram" under the rural connectivity program to the house of an influential resident of the area.
According to the sources, the said tractor road has been diverted to the house of a local and has changed into tiled road.
The residents of the Swarg Ashram and its surrounding areas have alleged that the Block Development Officer Pouni is involved in this scam it is because VLW and GRS have permitted a local to use public property for his personal use.
Locals have appealed to Governor N N Vohra to look into the matter and book those involved in the misuse of public funds. |
