Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 7: Acting Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, Justice Alok Aradhe today administered oath of office to two newly appointed judges of J&K High Court at a modest oath ceremony held in the Court Room of the Chief Justice here at High Court Complex. The Judges who took oath of office are Justice Sindhu Sharma and Justice Rashid Ali Dar. It is worthwhile to mention here that Sindhu Sharma is First Lady Judge in the J&K High Court Earlier, the Warrants of Appointment of new Judges issued by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind were read out by the Registrar General of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir Sanjay Dhar. Registrar General Sanjay Dhar also read the Letter of Authorization issued by Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, authorizing Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, to administer the oath of office to the newly appointed Judges. Congratulating the newly appointed Judges, the Acting Chief Justice wished them a successful tenure ahead. With the appointment of these two judges, the strength of High Court goes 10. Galaxy of Judges, Dignitaries and Guests were present on the occasion. Advocate Sindhu Sharma born on October 10, 1972 is presently Assistant Solicitor General of India in J&K High Court, Jammu Wing and she was the first lady Advocate of State to be appointed as Assistant Solicitor General of India, while Rashid Ali Dar retired as Principal District and Session Judge Srinagar on November 30, 2017. |
