MENDHAR, Aug 7: A large number of people, who have been denied wages by the Rural Development Department under various MGNREGA works for the last over 3 years, staged protest demonstration against the concern authorities.
They alleged that concerned Village Level Workers (Gram Sevaks) were not paying their pending wages for the last over 3 years and even the matter was brought to the notice of BDO Mendhar, but nothing has happened. , these workers were shouting slogans against Director RDD and Block Development Officer (BDO) Mendhar. They demanded an inquiry misappropriation of cement in MGNREGA works.
They warned to intensify their agitation if the wages of poor workers were not paid within a week.
They also pointed out that people were holding protests for the last several months but the Government has turned deaf ear towards their issue and appeal to the Minister RDD look into matter. |
