The Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid Wednesday said that five militants were trapped in the ongoing gunfight with forces in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir.
Taking to his Twitter handle the police chief wrote,“Encounter going on in Dooniwari forest area of Police Station Dangiwacha Sopore, report of presence of 5 terrorists. Wish success to our boys,”
Earlier in the day a para-commando suffered critical bullet injuries and was evacuated to military hospital for treatment after an encounter broke out between militants and government forces in forests of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 32 RR and 9 PARA commandos launched a cordon-and-search operation in the dense woods of upper reaches of Rafiabad today wee hours.
