Jammu, Aug 8: Lions Club R S Pura, today conducted a plantation drive at Government Girls High School Kaloyein falling in Tehsil R S Pura wherein more than 200 saplings were planted by the club members. The drive was held under the leadership of its President Swatantar Singh. The programme began with the plantation drive where members of the club planted the sapling of different varieties of trees. Addressing the gathering, Swatantar singh said, "To minimize the increasing effects of global warming, the best and easy way is to grow more and more plants. In this regard there is need for more awareness and plantation drives to spread the message of its importance for the survival of humankind. He further informed the members of club that more plantation drives would be organised in future. School principal Vena Devi appreciated the club members namely Sunny Mahajan, Kewal Krishan, Madan Lal Khanna, Rajendra Singh Sudan, Sahil Sharma, Dr Ashok Gupta, Vikram Sharma, Deep Raj and others were also present on the occasion. |
