Governor, others condole Vajpayee's demise | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 16: Mainstream leaders in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday condoled the demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee death in Delhi. Governor N.N. Vohra said: "Saddened over the demise of a visionary leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. Pray for the peace of the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members." Vajpayee passed away earlier in the day in All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. He was 93. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted: "Vajpayee sahib is no more and I feel a personal sense of loss. Thank you sir for the opportunities, for the trust you reposed in me, for the opportunities to travel with you and to learn from you. You will be greatly missed." Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta said: "He entered J&K with Syama Prasad Mookerjee in 1953. He was a statesman, thinker, poet and writer who will always be missed." National Conference President and Member Parliament for Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Thursday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the passing away of former Prime Minister of India Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Dr Farooq Abdullah paid glowing tributes to the departed leader and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Shri Ram Sena, State Prsesident Rajiv Mahajan has expressed grief over the sad demise of former Prime Minister respected Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji. Paying tribute to the former Prime Minister. National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana on Thursday expressed grief over the passing away of former Prime Minister Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee, describing him as great visionary, a respectable statesman, a leader of wisdom and compassion and an ace orator, who has inspired generations. Advocate Ravinder Raina, President All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference, expressed his deep condolences on the passing away of the former Prime Minister, Sh. Atal Behari Vajpayee. Terming it a great loss to Indian masses, he said that in passing away of Sh. Vajpayee ji, India has lost a true Nationalist & a great visionary, who always put India first and redefined the Indian political setup and was even respected by his political opponents. During an emergency meeting of the Executive Committe of All India Kashmiri Samaj, presided over by Col Tej K Tikoo (Retd), held at New Delhi today, All India Kashmiri Samaj passed a resolution condoling the death of Bharat Ratan Atal Bihari Vajpaye. In the sad death of Bharat Ratna, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India has lost its greatest statesman. Atal ji was a unique personality; a poet, a journalist, an unparallel orator, a humanist and a rare politician with incomparable qualities of head and heart. The first non-Congress Prime Minister who completed his five-year term, Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a most respected politician whose appeal cut across the political divide. He had the rare ability to carry every one along. |
