| Two drug peddlers held with 20 gram heroin | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Aug 16: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', a special drive against drugs launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu-Vivek Gupta, today Police Party from Police Station Bahu Fort (Trikuta Nagar) claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 20 gram Heroin from their possession.
Police spokesman said that acting on specific information police party led by Inspector Parvez Sajad under the supervision of DySP Vipan Chandran-SDPO East raised a naka in the jurisdiction of Bahu Fort police station and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK01J-4446.
"Both Arshid Ahmad Bhat and Arif Hussain Bhat both residents of Qazigund Anantnag were present in the car", said spokesman adding that during search police recovered 20 grams heroin (10 gram from each) from their possession, police arrested the both, seized heroin alongwith the car.
In this regard, a case under FIR no. 224/18 under section 8/21/29 NDPS Act has been registered and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source and destination of the consignment. |
