| CJ directs early disposal of old cases | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 16: Justice Gita Mittal today along with her companion Judges Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, on her maiden visit to District Court Complex Srinagar inspected the District Courts at Mominabad Srinagar today on 16th of August 2018. The Chief Justice was accorded guard of honor and was welcomed by all the Judicial officers. During the course of interaction with Judicial Officers posted at District headquarter at Srinagar, the Chief Justice impressed upon them to ensure that all the old cases pending in the Courts are prioritized for disposal within shortest possible time. They were also impressed upon to ensure that every poor litigant is provided legal assistance so that his/her case is prosecuted properly and nobody should feel marginalized. It was also impressed upon the Judicial Officers to accord top priority to the cases involving senior citizens. The Chief Justice Kumari Gita Mittal also directed all the officers who inspect jails to ensure that the fundamental rights of the inmates of jails are protected and safeguarded and all the facilities under law are provided to them.
The Chief Justice on this occasion assured the Advocates that their genuine demands shall be resolved within the constraints of infrastructure. |
