DPS Nagbani holds painting competition on the theme Indian Festivals

Jammu, Aug 21: To mark the onset of festival season, Delhi Public School Nagbani, Jammu -(West) held a painting competition on the theme Indian Festivals. India is a land of festivals, where people from different religion live harmoniously.
The wide variety of festivals celebrated in India is a true manifestation of its rich culture, heritage and traditions.
There are many Indian festivals and celebrations, the most exciting of which were showcased by the children. It also provided a great opportunity to the students to research and presents their artistic talent.
All the students spent their time in drawing various images and impression about Indian festivals.
Students from IV to IX participated enthusiastically in large number to express their feelings with colours. The aesthetic sense and vivid imagination of the building artists was appreciated by one and all. The guidance and motivation of the teachers also gave a tremendous boost to the enthusiasm of the students. It was tough to choose the winners but after careful observation the winners were announced in two categories:
1st category was from class IV to VI and 2nd category was from class VII to IX and prizes were distributed among them.
The Principal of the school R K Verma applauded the great efforts displayed by the students and said that festivals are a time for bonding, a time for cross-cultural exchange, a time to forgive and forget. He said that festivals should be celebrated irrespective of religion or caste because festivals are a means for bringing people closer and creating a strong bond of humanity. The competition was conducted under the supervision of art teacher Neha Gupta.
