JK students reap rich haul of medals in Dance Sports Festival

JAMMU, Aug 21: As many as 25 students of different schools represented J&K in All India Dance Sports Festival-2018, organized by Dance Sports Council of India, at Tema Engineering College, Nerul, Navi Mumbai from August 18 to 19.
The students who represented the state were drawn from Army Public School, Jammu Cantt, Army School, TCP Miran Sahib, KV Miran Sahib, KV No 2, Jammu Cantt, The Seminary School, Pragmatic Institute of Education, Miran Sahib, JK Public School, Kunjwani and Harman Dance Institute, Upper Gadigarh, Jammu.
The performances of the students were highly appreciated. 7 gold medals were won by junior group students namely Simarpreet Kour, Urvi Singh, Khushpreet Kour, Vansh Sudan, Ayush Isher, Rikhant Kumar and Shivanshu Kumar. One gold medal in solo category of folk was won by Harmanjeet Singh. One gold was won in junior girl category of Bollywood style by Kashish Sharma. 8 silver medals in senior category of group dance were won by students namely Akshay Kumar, Umesh , Karan, Aroosh, Harshleen Kour, Janvi Singh and Jasmine Kour. One gold medal was won by Jasleen Kour in senior contemporary dance form category. One silver medal was won by Kulvinder Singh in senior folk dance boys category. One bronze was won by Kamaljeet Kour in super mom category.
