JAMMU, Aug 21: One day induction cum entrepreneurship development program was organized under the agesis of ICSSR project titled "Tourism Entrepreneurship For Peace Building in Jammu and Kashmir " in collaboration with the BBA department, Government MAM college. The resource persons during the workshop were Vishal Ray, Assistant Professor, JKEDI and Vaibhav Sharma, CEO- "Travellers dost" and "The Himalayas 360". The objective of the workshop was to emphasize upon inculcating entrepreneurship skills among the students and youth. Prof. (Dr) Ramesh Chander, Principal, Government MAM College, Jammu welcomed the newly admitted students in the college in the BBA department and focused that the students after graduation should aim at becoming the entrepreneurs. Dr. Suvidha Khanna , Assistant Professor, SHTM, University of Jammu and Project Director, JCSSR project, emphasized upon the relevance of tourism entrepreneurship in the overall peace building in the state . She stressed that the students should develop the vision to be entrepreneurs, especially in the arena of tourism. Vishal Ray, Assistant professor, JKEDI gave a presentation on the entrepreneurship challenges and opportunities that are available with the youth of Jammu And Kashmir in the tourism sector and also presented an overview on the process of becoming an entrepreneur. Vaibhav Sharma, CEO-Travelers Dost and The Himalayan 360 discussed the traits to become a successful entrepreneur and gave an insight into the whole concept of early entrepreneurship. He also emphasized that students can play a vital role in providing tourism products viz. local culture, heritage, cuisine, etc. by citing real life examples. |
