Jammu, Aug 21: In an endeavor to check the entry of banned items into the State, as per the directions of Talat Parvez Rohella, Excise Commissioner, J&K Government, the sleuths of Excise Department, foiled another major attempt of smuggling of Polythene into the State by seizing approximately 14000 kgs of banned polythene bags. On subjecting a truck bearing registration No.JK02AQ-2108, to physical check, after it reported at the Toll Post Lakhanpur for clearance, it was found loaded with polythene covered under Atta bags. The smugglers have adopted different methods of smuggling of polythene into the state but the excise sleuths have repeatedly thwarted there attempts by enhancing the vigil on ground and by developing a strong network of information gathering. Talking to media, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Sh. Ashish Kumar Gupta has expressed his special thanks to SSP Sh.Shridhar Patil and his team of officers for the support to deal with such criminal elements. The role of Sh.Sushil Sharma, SHO was also lauded as he has always been there to provide assistance to the Excise teams, for dealing with all such criminal elements. |
