UGC approves IGNOU programmes for academic year 2018-19

Jammu, Aug 24: The University Grants Commission, vide letter F.No. 1-6/2018 (DEB-I) dated 9th Aug. 2018, has accorded approval to Undergraduate and Post-graduate level programmes offered by IGNOU through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode for the academic year 2018-19 to 2022-23, which is as per sub-regulation (2) of Regulation 1 of Part I of the UGC (ODL) Regulations, 2017. Copy of list of UG and PG programmes recognized is enclosed in the attachment for kind information and record.
It was earlier clarified that UGC gives recognition only for the programmes at Undergraduate and Post-graduate level as per sub-regulation (2) of Regulation 1 of Part I of the UGC (ODL) Regulations, 2017. It was also clarified by the University that IGNOU is free to offer Certificate and Diploma Programmes under ODL mode after the approval of the statutory bodies and all the Certificate and Diploma Programmes offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University under ODL mode are valid and will continue to remain on offer. It was further clarified that IGNOU's professional programmes like B.Ed, Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing, Master of Business Administration, Master of Computer Applications have been recognized by the respective Regulatory Bodies and the relevant documents have been submitted to UGC for consideration, as per the Official Handout issued by the University.
