| VC SNU urges Governor to resolve grievances of teachers | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 28: Seeking intervention of the Governor to resolve the issue pertaining to agitating ReT teachers who are on protest for several days, Dr Shazad Malik, Vice Chancellor of Sai Nath University have appealed the new Governor to consider the genuine demands of the teachers and if possible resolve the issue before 5th September i.e. before "Teachers Day".
Yesterday a delegation of ReT teachers met the VC and apprised him about the alleged discrimination meted out with them, they informed him that due to continuation of linking of their Salary account head with central scheme SSA, even after being regularized for years yet their salary is paid from central fund and often due to delay in release of funds by the central government they are made to suffer.
Unfortunately, these ReTs are yet not given the benefit of 7th pay commission recommendations which are already availed by all other employees of the state government including PSUs. Dr Shazad has called for an amicable culmination of agitation of ReTs and requested the State government to talk to these agitating teachers who are the most educated lot of the society and can be very helpful in carving future of the youth of the state. |
