Power crisis hit village Phangial

Udhampur, Aug 28: People of village Phangial here are facing many problems due to the poor electricity supply in their village.
Rohit Sharma - a villager from Phangial informed that there are prolonged power cuts many of which are unscheduled and at other times the power remain single phase thereby leaving the village and its adjoining hamlets in dim light.
Shiva reads in class VIII in a nearby government school told this reporter that he can't study properly as at most of the time power supply in his village remains snapped.
Similar is the problem of other students of the village and they have resentment against the Power Development Department.
"When we pay electricity bills in time then why we are denied this facility and why we are made to suffer due to unscheduled prolonged power cuts," Geeta Bhagat-a housewife said.
Some village elders informed that this problem is there for the last some 20 days.
They further said that they will block Jammu-Srinagar national highway if the problem is not solved soon.
Chandu-a daily wager said that his ailing father faces many problems due to heat when the fan in his house is unable to give air in the absence of electricity.
People have appealed to the authorities concerned to solve the power problem immediately.
When contacted concerning officer and he said that transformer is damaged and upto evening transformer will replaced and then get electricity to this village.
