Khyber Agro served notice over 'unethical marketing practices' | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 28: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Syed Aabid Rashid Shah on Tuesday issued a notice to Khyber Agro Farms for adopting unethical marketing practices. The notice was issued after product of the company 'Pro Active Dahi' with 01-09/2018 manufacturing date went viral on social media. "Whereas one of the samples of Khyber 'Pro Active Dahi' bearing batch number No. BH;27 with MRP of Rs 18 shows manufacturing date of 01-09-2018 has gone viral on social media on 28-08-2018, clearly brining out that you have post dated the manufacturing date of the batch," reads the notice issued by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar. Prima facie this acts of yours has made it possible for the perishable item Pro Active Dahi having limited shell life to sustain longer in the market to earn profits, clearly an unethical market practice which could risk the health of consumers, it further reads. The Khyber Agro Farms has been given two days time to clear its position over the issue. Khyber Agro Farms Pvt Ltd is registered for manufacturing of milk and milk related products, which includes Khyber 'Pro Active Dahi'. It's not for the first time that company has been served notices over such issues. |
