Cop held with 20gram heroin

jammu, Aug 28: In continutation to operation operation 'Sanjeevani', launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Vivek Gupta, Gandhi Nagar police today arrested a cop and recovered 20 gram heroin from his possession.
Police spokesman said that today police party from Gandhi Nagar police station laid naka near Valmiki Chowk Gandhi Nagar for checking/ frisking of vehicles and during checking/ frisking one pedestrian coming towards Naka on seeing police party tried to escape in suspicious circumstances but the Incharge naka assisted by other officials chased/ caught hold of him who during questioning disclosed his name as Nisar Ahmed of Chagoor Pulwama at present Sqct. No. 874/AP 7th BN Channi Jammu.
Spokesman furthet said that on checking 20 Gm of Heroin was recovered from the possession of the arrested accused person.
Accordingly a case under FIR No. 196/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
The arrest and recovery has been made by Insp. Sunil Singh Jasrotia SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by SI Rohit Bhagat under the supervision of SDPO City South Rafiq Manhas, I/C SP City South
Vinay Kumar, and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
