Traffic Jam on NHW for hours, passengers face inconvenience

RAMBAN, Aug 28: Heavy traffic jam was witnessed since morning in between Ramban to Banihal National Highway stretch and thousands vehicles were stranded for the whole day.
During this traffic jam the passengers were forced to wait for hours in the hot sunny day.
Passengers said that from morning the traffic jam was started and it is more than ten hours we were stranded under open sky besides this there was such no arrangements of food and water.
They further said that due to the negligence of four lane road project companies, nowadays it's a common issue of traffic jam and landslide, for this the administration and high officials need to take strict action on this so that passengers will not face such problems in future.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic National Highway Shakti Pathak said that due to sudden landslides few days back at Ramsoo area of district Ramban the NHW was blocked, owing these issues the width of NHW is also reduced which is also one more reason of traffic jam.
He added that due to the mechanical fault in two trucks the highway was block resulting heavy traffic jam.
He disclosed that in the recent with higher officers of administration in which it was decided the construction companies will be directed to work on National Highway four lane project during night time and there will be no traffic movement during this time.
He advised people especially drivers to follow the traffic rules and cooperate with the traffic police to avoid the traffic conjunction.
