Bovine bid foiled, 11 animal rescued

Kathua, Sept 3: Continuing with the drive against smugglers, the officials of Toll Post Nagri and Police Post Nagri foiled a major smuggling bid when they nabbed one vehicle carrying 11 numbers of bovine animals entering into the State at Toll Post, Nagri. The offending vehicle was subjected to physical check when reported at the Toll Post for clearance. As per the documents the vehicle was carrying Tomato vide GR No. 11976 issued by Darshan Freight Carrier, 26 Transport Nagar, Jalandar. However, on physical checking the vehicle was found carrying 11 numbers of bovine animals. The ever alert staff at Nagri nabbed the vehicle and saved 11 numbers of bovine animals on spot. The whole operation was conducted by the joint team headed by Excise and Taxation Officer, Sandeep Gupta, SHO Kathua, Sub Inspector Vikas Jasrotia Incharge Police Post, Nagri alongwith excise Inspector Sanjeev Khajuria, Sub Inspector Naseer Ahmad, Excise Head Guard Ajit Singh, Excise Guard, Rashid Ahmad, Rakesh Kumar and team of Police Post Nagri under direct supervision of Shridhar Patil, Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua and Ashish Gupta, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post, Lakhanpur. In this regard, a case FIR No. 323/18 dated 02.09.2018 under Section 188 RPC has been lodged in Police Station, Kathua.
