Army launches massive search operations in 18 South Kashmir villages
The Indian Army launched massive search and cordon operations in 18 villages in Pulwama and Shopian districts of South Kashmir early today morning.
The Army's 55 Rashtriya Rifles, 44 Rashtriya Rifles, and 53 Rashtriya Rifles battalions along with units from the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force are carrying out the operations.
Search operations are being carried out in Rohmu, Below, Rajpora, Mitrigam, Frasipura, Gasu, Kucchepura, Chak, Mirgund, Murran, Zagigam, Tukarpura, Kamazipura, Drubgam, Hanjan, Ayangund, Shekharpora villages.
This is the first major operation by the Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police after over 10 close family members of the J&K Police personnel were abducted last week. Reports suggested that most of the abducted people were taken taken from Shopian, Kulgam, Anantnag, Pulwama and Awantipora districts. |
