Agri officer refuses to leave favourite station
Despite detachment order
9/5/2018 10:10:28 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 5: Though the Governor had clearly instructed all officials to ensure detachment of employees, in the Agriculture department an influential officer has refused to leave the station of his choice.
According to sources, a Field Assistant level Agriculture officer, whose actual place of posting is in soil division of Agriculture department in Basohli, has been working for last many years at Lakhanpur.
"For the last over 20 years, this officer has been serving in his favourite place of posting which is Kathua town. For nearly 15 years, he had served in an Agriculture division at Lakhanpur and for nearly five years, he had served in Kathua town", sources said.
Sources further informed that last year he was transferred to soil division of Agriculture department in Basohli, but the influential official managed his attachment in an office at Lakhanpur.
"He continues to serve in Lakhanpur by managing attachment, while his salary was being drawn from ASCO office Kathua", sources said, adding that the official enjoys a strong patronage of some politicians and higher officials due to which he continues to be posted in Kathua town.
"After the Governor office issued an order instructing all the attached employees to return to their original place of posting, it made no difference to this official. He continued to work at Lakhanpur office and few days back, he went on leave", sources said, adding that even when he was on leave, he continued to come in the office.
Sources further said that the official was so influential that he was sure that he would to be posted in Kathua town, and would not return to his original place of posting at Basohli town.
"It is unknown whether the Directorate of Agriculture is also involved in the entire matter or the official has been hoodwinking the top authorities with active help of lower rung officials", sources said, adding that Governor office must initiate an enquiry over the matter.
