Govt Polytechnic Jammu bags 'Outstanding Institution Award' in North India

JAMMU, Sept 8: Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, Jammu bags the "Outstanding Institution Award" in a grand ceremony conducted at National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh on its 51st Annual Day function.
This award is given by NITTTR every year to the various Polytechnic and Engineering institution whose performance during the year is the best in the northern region comprising of the States of J&K, Punjab, H.P, Haryana, Rajasthan, U.P, Uttrakhand, Delhi and Chandigarh.
Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, Jammu received the award from Dr. Anil D Sahasarbudha, Chariman All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). He appreciated the efforts of Government Polytechnic Jammu in providing quality education in J&K state The Principal was accompanied by K S Bhatia, HOD Mechanical.
Padam Bhushan Dr K K Talwar, Chairman Board of Governors NITTTR and Dr. S S Patnaik Director NITTTR present in the function also congratulated Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu for its excellent performance during the year.
Mohammad Javed Khan (IAS), Secretary to Government Technical Education Department, J&K congratulated the Principal and staff on its exponential growth in imparting quality education and receiving the Outstanding Polytechnic Award in the North India. Anoo Malhotra, Director Technical Education, J&K also congratulated and applauded the efforts and hard work of the Principal and staff in bringing the laurel to the J&K state and stressed that Technical Education Department should achieve such milestones in future endeveours also.
While ascertaining the performance of the Polytechnic and Engineering colleges in North India, Dr. S.K Dhameja, Dean, Academics and International Affairs, NITTTR Chandigarh said that Polytechnic and Engineering colleges of North India are awarded every year and Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu has bagged the Outstanding Polytechnic award for the 1st time in the academic year 2017-18 as it has displayed remarkable performance in various aspects like academics, R&D initiatives, academic and industries linkages, placements, entrepreneurship, activities, seminars and other activities conducted during the year. The college has well qualified faculty with great infrastructure and High-Tech laboratories which are upgraded time to time for the training of students.
It has full fleged Training and Placement cell and Enterpreneurship cell which has developed linkages with many industries for training and placement of students and organized various Placement drives and Enterpreneurship Development Programmes for students. Many National and International awards were won by the faculty and students during the year. Research papers were published by the staff in the international journals and conferences. The college has organized various Seminars /Workshops/Conferences, Expert Talks, Short Term programmes and various social activities like Blood Donation Camps, Plantation drives, Swachh Bharat programmes during the year. The college has also promoted the Make in India Programmee, Start-up and Innovations by organizing Technovation 2018, Swachhta Hi Sewa Hai, Sports activities, Yoga etc.
Even in the Technovation 2018 organized by college in which various Polytechnics of the state participated during March 2018, it bagged the "Overall Best Performance" Trophy for the year 2018. The staffs are active members of many Professional bodies like Institute of Engineers, India Institute of Architecture and Council of Architecture.
