360 kgs of Bhukki recovered in two separate seizures

KATHUA, Sept 8: Alert sleuths of Excise Department along with Police Department at Lakhanpur foiled two attempts of smuggling Poppy husk (Bhukki) out of the State by seizing two consignments of 60 kgs and 300 kgs being consigned in Vehicles bearing registration numbers PB-11-AF-8307 and PB-65-AS-2755 in the garb of 'Garlic' and 'Empty Vehicle' respectively.
Both the Vehicles along with the contraband have been seized at Police Station, Lakhanpur for further investigations/action under the NDPS Act.
Both operations were conducted in a professional manner by separate teams of Excise Department officials comprising of Excise Inspectors Khalid Manhas, Sanjeev Sen, Dheeraj Kumar and Narender Gupta, Excise Sub-Inspectors Sheikh Touseef, Kanwaljeet Shan and Vinay Kumar and Excise Guards
Javed Iqbal and Shakeel Ahmad under command of Excise and Taxation Officer Abhishake Abrol and SHO Lakhanpur Sushil Sharma under direct supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post, Ashish Kumar Gupta and SSP Kathua Sridhar Patil.
Excise Commissioner, J&K Talat Parvez Rohella, lauded the efforts of teams of Excise and Police officials and enjoined them to work with same zeal and coordination and complimented the Toll Post officials for this extraordinary achievement.
