JAMMU, Sept 12: Akhnoor Sports Club paid rich tributes to Lt Thakur Das Sharma on his 54th day of martyrdom in Kalidhar sector while defending Indian territory during 1965 Indo-Pak war. Thakur Dass Sharma was a valiant commissioned army officer and a good sportsperson. The tribute ceremony started with national anthem. Rajiv Sharma, MLA, Akhnoor garlanded the memorial of the martyr and paid floral tributes to Lt Thakur Dass Sharma and remembered his great sacrifice with immense pride.
Praising the valiant army officer of Akhnoor who laid down his life for defending the motherland, the chief guest exhorted the youth to come forward to defend the borders of the motherland. Rich tribute were also paid to the martyr by SDM, Akhnoor, Munish Anand, SDPO Akhnoor, DK Kapoor, President and S K.Sharma, General Secretary of Akhnoor Sports Club, an organization which is committed to the service for promoting all round sports activities in Akhnoor area. |
