Jammu, Sept 12: Notwithstanding tough stand taken by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and National Conference, RSS today said that it would intensify its campaign for the abrogation of Article 35-A.
In the presence of BJP leaders, who were especially called for today's crucial meeting to discuss emerging political scenario in J&K, senior RSS leaders made it clear that there was no question of softening stand their stand on the issue. Sangh leaders told the BJP leaders to press for the abrogation of Article 35A.
Credible sources said that during the meeting, Sangh leaders regretted that instead of working on party's agenda, BJP leaders in J&K were more worried about formation of government. They cautioned that their failure to respect peoples' sentiment would be proved disastrous for the party in coming Parliamentary elections.
Meanwhile top leaders of RSS and BJP today devised strategy for the coming Lok Sabha elections in the State. Prominent BJP leaders were summoned for Wednesday's meeting so as to formulate a comprehensive policy to retain Lok Sabha seats party had won in 2014 elections.
In 2014 parliamentary elections, BJP had won all time high three Lok Sabha-out of total six seats of the State.
Sources said that RSS leaders were disappointed with the performance of ministers in the previous coalition government in which BJP was equal partner.
Prominent RSS leader namely Manmohan Vaidya attended today's meeting. From BJP's side Ram Madhav, Dr Jatinder Singh, Dr Nirmal Singh, Shamsher Singh, Jugal Kishore, Kavinder Gupta, Ravinder Raina, Chander Parkash Ganga, Rajni Sethi, Sat Sharma, Narinder Singh, Yudhvir Sethi and Rajesh Gupta attended the meeting.
