Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 12: Hundreds of PHE ITI Trained, Community Participation workers of Jammu province today organized a protest rally and walked nine kilometres of distance.
The protesting employees were raising slogans against state government as well as in favour of their demands. The protesters have been demanding the release of their pending wages as well as their regularization.
The workers from various districts and Sub Divisions of province had assembled at Lakhanpur under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir PHE, ITI Trained and CP Workers Association.
In the form of rally the protesting workers marched towards PHE Division office Kathua, which was nearly nine kilometres from the initial point.
"All the political parties dodged the poor workers by giving false assurances. The Panchayat elections are round the corner and the family of these poor workers will give a befitting reply to these political parties in the elections", Provincial President of the Association, Tanveer Hussain said.
The workers are without salary from last 52 months, the government not even release their salaries in festivals, this shows that government has turned a deaf ear towards their plight, he further said.
The protesters warned the government that if their demands would not be conceded at the earliest, they would lock all the water pumping stations.
Tanveer Hussian extended the call "Kaam Chodo Hartaal" further for 72 hours. He said daily wagers will launch Jail Bharo Andolan on 15th of September at Press Club, Jammu.
The others who were present during the protest are Jeevan Singh, Balbir Jasmeria, Govind kumar, Parveen Ahmed, Bittu, Pawan Kumar, Dhani ram, Sohan Choudhary, Manjeet Singh etc.
