JKTF's chain hunger strike continues, enters day 14 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 12: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum's (JKTF's) indefinite chain hunger strike which was started on august 30 entered the 14th day today with fresh batch of 10 members from the Forum, a constituent of Teachers Joint Action Committee (TJAC), sat for 24 hour hunger strike in support of their demands of implementation of 7th pay commission and delinking of salary from Central to State Budget of SSA/RMSA Teachers & Masters. The fasting teachers from Kathua & Udhampur districts who sat on today hunger strike included Subash Sharma District President (JKTF) Kathua, Shashi Pal Sharma, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Jatinder Bhushan, Pawan Kumar, Sanjay Sharma Vice president (JKTF) Udhampur, Rakesh Gupta, Satvir Singh, Sansar Singh and Joginder Singh. While addressing the mammoth gathering at venue of the chain hunger strike, the speakers criticized the apathetic attitude of the government regarding the genuine demands of the teaching community and said it is very unfortunate that inspite of continuous struggle in whole of the state since April 2018, no concrete and corrective steps have been taken to redress the grievances of the teaching fraternity. |
