Another militant was killed in an ongoing encounter with the government forces in Katriyal forests of Jammu on Thursday, taking the toll to two.
General Officer Commanding (GOC), Uniform Force Major General Arvind Bhatia confirmed the killing of two militants.
He said the militants had recently infiltrated from Samba, Bobiyan through International Border. “The truck driver and co-driver are trained over ground workers,” he said.
Eight forces’ personnel, including SHPO Katra, were injured in the gunfight that broke out early today in the forest area.
An official said that contact was established with the militant who slipped into the forests after forces intercepted a truck in which they were travelling yesterday. |
