| GDC Majalta organizes Inter College Symposium | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 17: On the eve of International Ozone day, Govt. Degree College Majalta has organised an Inter College Symposium on the Theme.
The programme was organised in collaboration with the Department of J&K State Science and Technology and Innovation council. The Programme was held under the chairmanship of the Principal of the College Prof. Kusam Gupta and started with the lighting of the lamp. In the inaugral session Dr. Asha Singh of the college has highlighted the significance of this day and addressed the student participants. Student speakers from different colleges of the district Udhampur spoke on the event. Out of total eight speakers , three speakers have been adjudged 1st ,2nd and 3rd namely
Priyatosh, GDC Udhampur (Boys), Afida, GDC Udhampur (Boys), Chakshu Sharma ,GDC Jindrah respectively . Ritu Singh of GDC Majalta and Pawan Dev Singh of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur were awarded with consolation prizes. Principal Prof. Kusam Gupta has also interacted with the students and the staff on the theme and also highlighted the importance of the knowledge about ill-effects of
Prof. C L Shivgotra has also talked about the importance of the theme and asked the students to know it and become ambassadors for educating the members of their family and the society. Simply knowing about it will not serve the purpose. Moreover, its applications are urgently required.
Prof. Ambica Gupta has conducted the proceedings of the event and side by side also educated the student participants about the significance of the knowledge about the topic of symposium. Later on, the winner students have been given certificates and cash prizes. The programme was concluded with recitation of National Anthem. |
