| Locals intensify protest, demand rehabilitation | | |  Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Sept 17: Residents of Karol area of district Ramban intensify their protest against district administration and GAMMON Engineers and Contractor Pvt Ltd in which former Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ramban Ashok Kumar Dogra joinED in and supported the people suffering due to the construction of four-laned national highway, here today.
Dogra while demanding justice to the local people expressed strong resentment against the administration adding the people will not tolerate the indifferent attitude of the administration and private company.
He said that the people of Karol are being tortured as their houses were demolished by the company without any information.
Dogra said that we are not against the construction of four laning project but we will not allow people's rights to be suppressed.
A protester Parvaiz Shan asked the administration for some more time to vacate the homes and arrange something to rehabilitate the residents.
He threatened that if the demands of the locals were not fulfilled, they will block the national highway. |
