GDC Akhnoor celebrates Ozone Day

AKHNOOR, Sept 17: Ozone Day was celebrated at GDC Akhnoor through a poster making competition in which 40 students from different disciplines and classes participated. The Principal GDC Akhnoor Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma inaugurated the event and emphasized the role and importance of Ozone layer for the welfare of living beings. He further stressed upon the participants to educate the masses in their respective localities, about the importance of Ozone layer and the factors which destroy it. The posters were evaluated by three judges through live presentation, the judges for the event were Prof. Tarsem Lal, HOD Chemistry, Prof. Sughanda Mahajan, HOD Botany and Prof. Pooja Charak, HOD Pol. Sc. The winners of the event were Priyanka Sharma, Ritu Devi and Tanvi Bhandhari who secured first, second and third positions respectively. The whole programme was coordinated by Prof. Chander Shekhar and Prof. Rahul Kait. The other faculty members present were Prof. Anil Verma, Prof. Manmeet Kour, Prof. Dewarka Nath, Prof. Yogesh Sharma, Prof. Mamta Sharma, Prof. Sonia Bhau, Prof. Raman Singh and Prof. Gulzar Ahmed Lone.
