| GDC Kathua felicitates winners of Inter Collegiate Badminton Tournament | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 17: Winning team of Inter Collegiate Badminton (Men) Tournament of GDC Kathua was felicitated in the college by Principal, Sports Board Convener and Senior Faculty of the College. Principal of the college, Prof. Kartar Chand, congratulated the badminton team of the college for lifting the inter collegiate Championships organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu. He also appreciated the efforts of the Dr. Balbinder Singh, Physical Director, GDC Kathua for providing all the facilities to the players and working hard in preparing such a matchless team. In the high profile final, Govt. Degree College Kathua defeated GDC Udhampur in a close contest.GDC Kathua won 1st singles and got lead in the star of the match by 1-0 while GDC Udhampur marked its comeback by winning 2nd singles and 1st doubles and take the lead to 2-1. Again GDC Kathua equalized the lead to 2-2 by winning 3rd singles. In the final game GDC Kathua outplayed GDC Udhampur in the 2nd Doubles and lifted the Inter Collegiate Badminton (Men) Tournament with final score on the board 3-2. GDC Kathua reached in the finals by defeating GGM Science College Jammu by 3-0 in the Quarter final and then in the semi final defeated GCET Jammu again by 3-0. |
