Early Times Report
Poonch, Sept 30: Notwith standing the tall claims of Government that health infrastructure has been upgraded in this border district yet people allege that health scenario in the entire Poonch has been worsening and less care is being taken for the health of general public sources said.
Citing the biggest reason for the issue some prominent people of various areas of the district while talking to Early Times said that the Chief Medical officer and other health officers are locals who have been over staying and making fortunes by maintaining their monopoly on entire health department.
They said Block Medical Officers of the Mandi , Surankote and Poonch were locals and serving at place since several years. They do work according to their will and general people suffer .
If some one intends to lodge a complaint against any medical officer for some lapses , no action is being taken because BMO are influential and locals too and above all had the blessings of CMO over their head. Hence the complaintant has to skip red faced and without getting any reasonable answer , they added.
The lackadaisical approach have turned all PHCs and SDHs in improper functioning and health care in the centres and hospitals is not upto the mark.
Meanwhile social activist Mushtaq Ahmed has urged the Governor to take the matter of local health officers seriously and shift them out of the district and let new officers come and serve the guillible people of this border district , he added.
