RWES hails Govt decision to hike procurement price of milk

JAMMU, Sept 30: Chairman, Refugee Welfare and Educational Society (RWES) Sunderbani Dr Ram Chander Sharma has hailed the decision of government to hike procurement price of Milk from Dairy Farmers of State from Rs 23 to Rs 30-32 per litre with 3.5% fat and 7% SNF.
A demand in this regard was put to government vide grievance No 999000945985.
The dairy farmers are thankful to Principal Secretary Animal Sheep Husbandry Department Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon for the prompt decision on a long pending demand of farmers.
It is also demanded that the payment to farmers be done by DBT mode to prevent any corruption. There is wide range of disparities on milk cost by private players and Secretary CAPD department is requested to fix the prices for protection of farmers rights. Governor is requested to issue directions to all District Magistrates to indentify the locations in Jammu, Srinagar and other towns of state to open milk kiosks by cooperatives and rural NGOs to fetch good prices of milk and to provide pure adulteration free milk to public.
