| Punjab based drug smugglers held with 3 kgs poppy straw | | | Early Times Jammu
jAMMU, Oct 6: Police today arrested a Punjab based drug smuggler and recovered 3 kilograms of poppy straw (Bhukki) from his possession.
Police spokesman said that a police party headed by Inspector Ravinder Singh Rakwal, SHO Bari Brahmana under the close supervision of Sunil Kumar Kesar, SDPO Bari Brahmana, during routine vehicle checking at Balole, Bari Brahmana, intercepted a truck bearing Registration number PB13AL-8385 coming from Jammu side and recovered 3 kgs of poppy straw from the possession of driver and his associate. The accused driver and his associate has been identified as Hardeep Singh and Rakesh Kumar both resident of Sangrur, Punjab.
The said drug peddler alongwith associate arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized. In this regard a case under FIR No. 184/2018 under section 8/15/29 NDPS Act registered at Bari Brahmana police station and further investigation started. |
