Early Times Jammu Jammu, Oct 6: To promote the traditional culture of J&K and to aware the masses, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) presented musical play "Nashe Kola Bacho" under its Saturday series in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production on the theme of "Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking" here today at Open Air Theatre Durga Bhawan Janipur. The musical play was aimed at to protect the masses especially the vulnerable population i.e. adolescents from getting exploited by the menace of drug addiction and enable them to adopt safe and rational use of drugs by way of generating awareness through effective information and communication technologies. The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director , Health Department J&K Government. Among the Guest of Honors present were VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Dr Anju Kumari Dogra, Directorate of Health J&K Government and RP Amla, Director of Event. The items including nukkad, skits, songs and dances were specially presented on the theme to aware the masses. Speaking on the occasion, M L Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS, said that the global use of tobacco and liquor kill nearly 10 million people each year of which more than 6 lakh sufferers are non-smokers (passive smokers). |
